I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s Degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University. My educational background also includes a bachelor' degree in psychology and a bachelor of science degree in family studies and human development from the University of Arizona. From a young age, my passion for understanding human connection was clear. With the age-old debate of nature vs. nurture in mind, my curiosities deepened while exploring the connection between genetics and early childhood experiences within the context of society and environment as primary influences. I am proud to share my vast variety of experience working with different populations and acuity levels including the LGBTQ+ community, individuals of color, couples, families, adolescents, and adults. My professional interests and specialties generally include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, self-esteem, multicultural issues, and trauma. My experience working in outpatient programs has provided me with essential insight into self-harm behaviors, suicide assessment and risk reduction, eating disorders, and substance abuse/addictions. Alongside this experience, I have found my theoretical orientation highlighting my investment in a style emphasizing a more integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to mental health. My theoretical approaches to therapy include psychodynamic, schema therapy, mind and body connection/mindfulness, and humanistic, person-centered therapy. My approach in work with couples specifically includes conflict resolution, emotion focused therapy, attachment styles, and their role in adult relationships. My goal is to provide a safe space for processing all of life’s challenges. Figuratively speaking, the daily masks we wear can be exhausting. Despite how alone we may feel during these times, I am here to remind you that support is always available. I believe being able to share my insight into the world of psychology and interventions is an essential part of therapy, but also the impact and strength of the therapeutic alliance and advocacy of the client’s needs, preferences, and pace to explore intimate details of their unique struggles is just as important. My hope is to support you in this journey of self-discovery by providing a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space to feel seen, heard and appreciated. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of these vulnerabilities and build meaningful social connections, all the while empowering you to live a life filled with self-growth and authenticity.
