I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Krasnoyarsk State University in Russia. After graduating in 2001, I started working in community mental health and now have over 17 years of experience in counseling and psychotherapy with adults, groups, families, couples, and children. I am passionate about helping others and through my counseling work I have been able to support clients who were struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, work related conflicts, and issues. I am deeply interested psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy and in 2015 I became a part of 5 year certificate program in psychoanalysis at the Newport Psychoanalytic Institute to enhance my skills as a therapist and to eventually become a psychoanalyst. My study and training are ongoing. The last several years of my practice were focused on providing therapy for children with anxiety and adults with psychological trauma who were subjected to domestic violence and different types of abuse and neglect in childhood. I also enjoy working with couples very much and utilize the E.F.T. (Emotion Focused Therapy) approach that focuses on the love and connection in the couples relationship and ways to restore it. My professional interests and expertise are in the area of psychological trauma, sexual abuse, loss and dealing with chronic anxiety and depression. Many of our experiences come from a place of great suffering and fear. Often, this entails surviving harsh challenges and as a result, pieces of our personal stories may be missing, either because they are forgotten or too painful to talk about. Restoring one's personal history can prove to be invaluable in healing pain. It can connect the past and the present forming continuity and hope for the future. My goal as a therapist is to provide assistance and encouragement for every one of my clients in exploring these personal stories as a way of coping with pain and finding meaning. I provide a caring and safe environment where my clients can get to the source of their problems and feel safe, seen, heard, and understood. Working together, we can achieve your goals of living a more joyful, loving, and productive life as well as any other issues or concerns you would like to address.
