I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master degree in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. I have been working in the field of Mental Health for the past 10 years in a variety of community based mental health settings. I have worked with adults and children of all ages from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am experienced in working with those struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, substance use, and work/school related conflicts, among other issues. My passion for mental health began when I worked as a tutor and life skills educator for youth in long term foster care in Los Angeles County. I realized how important their mental health was as a determinant to their success in the future. My therapeutic approach stems from humanistic theory, focusing on self-development and growth, while helping individuals recognize their strengths, creativity, and power of choice. However, I employ a variety of theoretical frameworks such as narrative, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, cognitive behavioral and psychoanalytic. I also enjoy working with couples utilizing both emotional focused therapy and some techniques from the Gottman couples therapy appraoch. I am client centered, where my clients are the experts in their life and environment. My goal is to help my clients heal and get to know their own mind and potential.
